Disillusioned

Hard to say

If the glasses I’m wearing

Have rose colored lenses

I’d be colorblind forever

Hold steady, the arrival

Of my own transcendence

Into your soul, —-all I know is

— ocean eyes make sense now (you couldn’t hide them, you didn’t look away)

How we sank but did not drown

What does this mean in the end?

The promise to myself:

Not again, not again

Sometimes your heart racing is the closest thing to God you’ll ever know

 And now you’ve known

Words from your mouth

sweet honey, I can get so close

To tasting

Then— starving

The hollow whisper of my own, gentle breath grounding

Reality, the reminder

All of my daydreams must come to an end

Only time knows if this is what I believe it to be, God I pray it be
