I took a plane back home
Watching hills curve into winding roads
Twisting into old moments
Of a life turned to memory
A whole coast away from the only thing I used to know
My heart
Charred by the agony of what I have come to learn is love
A man sat near me on the plane
Close enough?
The wrinkles on his face
Suffering and joy
A reiteration–
Deep lines carrying memories
Through your body
Like the ridges in the mountains
The weight is all the same
Safety//Sacrifice//Laughter//Loss
